Vigil
Exams you can trust — with a person, not an algorithm, making every serious call
Vigil is Alpha Web's proctored online exam platform for coaching institutes, colleges and schools. Your faculty upload a syllabus and approve AI-drafted multiple-choice questions; students sit a timed exam on a normal laptop with camera, microphone and screen recording. Eye and face signals only raise a flag, and a reviewer decides — students can appeal.
Why teams choose Vigil
- AI-drafted, topic-tagged MCQs that faculty approve before use
- Server-kept clock, breaks and rules — not the student's browser
- Photo ID, selfie and room checks; one-time codes by email or SMS
- Camera, microphone and screen recording with on-device eye and face checks
- Human review queue, appeals and reinstatement
- Scores, CSV export, item analysis, topic reports and focused retests
- Guardian consent step where a guardian is named, and retention you control
The paper writes itself
Upload a syllabus PDF or text. Vigil drafts topic-tagged questions; your faculty edit, approve or reject each one.
Fair by design
Camera, eye and face signals never decide anything alone. Only repeated tab, window, copy, print or screenshot violations cancel an exam, and a person reviews every cancellation.
Privacy first
Face and gaze detection run on the student's device and only numbers are stored. Students see what is recorded and why, and recordings are deleted after the retention period you set.
Learning, not just policing
Students get a topic-wise report and can retake a focused test on the topics they missed.

Frequently asked questions
What do students need?
A laptop or desktop with Chrome or Edge, a webcam and a microphone. Nothing to install.
Does the software catch cheaters automatically?
It raises flags for a reviewer and automatically cancels only after repeated tab, window, copy, print or screenshot violations. A person reviews every cancellation and students can appeal.
Can we pilot it first?
Yes. Vigil is in early access: we run a small pilot with your team and report how often flags were overturned so you can judge fairness yourselves.
